Blaikie Hines is an artist and an experienced restorer of antique paintings and period picture frames. For decades, he has worked with paintings, frames, and historic objects, bringing an artist’s eye, practical experience, and a careful, respectful approach to the conservation and restoration of works of art.

His work focuses primarily on the restoration of oil paintings. Treatments may include cleaning aged and discolored surfaces, stabilizing lifting or flaking paint, repairing tears and other canvas damage, addressing earlier or unsuccessful restorations, and improving the appearance and structural stability of a painting while preserving as much original material as possible.
